Paul Hjul
Paul Axel Hansen Hjul is a South African business consultant, legal researcher, and political commentator based in Jeffrey's Bay. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes University and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of London. Hjul is a strong advocate for free markets underpinned by the Rule of Law. Guided by the philosophical tenet of Postel’s Law, his primary research explores the history of liberalism as a legal and political ideology. In the corporate sector, Hjul co-founded Crystal Web, a pioneering South African internet service provider and telecommunications startup. He regularly interfaces with national media, offering legal and technical insights on ICT policy, regulatory capture, and legislation aimed at social redress. He actively balances his work in information technology with public advocacy, striving to expand internet access and incubator opportunities across South Africa.
