Nikki has worked in education for more than 30 years. After studying at Stellenbosch University, she began her career at South Africa’s largest private distance-learning group, where she earned a Master’s degree in Linguistics and developed a deep understanding of pedagogy - the art and science of teaching.

She has always been passionate about making learning more intuitive and accessible, believing that applying linguistic principles to educational design can significantly improve student success and completion rates.

In 2008, Nikki acquired a small business school and set out to build an institution focused on helping working professionals advance their careers through education. Under her leadership, IBTC has grown into a leading provider of finance, business, and professional qualifications, supporting thousands of students across South Africa and beyond. Throughout this journey, Nikki has remained committed to a simple purpose: enhancing careers and enriching lives through education.

In 2026, Nikki launched the IBTC Data Centre Academy, an industry-led initiative focused on developing Africa’s next generation of data centre professionals and helping address critical skills shortages across the continent’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure sector.

Today, IBTC is recognised not only for academic excellence and exceptional student support, but also for its commitment to innovation, workforce development, and creating meaningful opportunities for lifelong learning.
