Eng. Fred Ong'aro
Eng. Fred Onchoka Ong’aro currently serves as Deputy Director, Fund Strategy & Coordination – Universal Service Fund (USF) at the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA). In this role, he is responsible for the development and implementation of the USF Strategy, resource mobilization and partnership management, conceptualization of universal access and service projects, and coordination of USF
programmes and activities aimed at expanding access to ICT services across Kenya.
Eng. Ong’aro holds a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in Communications Management from Buckinghamshire New University, United Kingdom. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering from Moi University.
Eng. Ong’aro is passionate about leveraging ICT as a catalyst for socioeconomic development and improved quality of life. His professional aspiration is to contribute to a society where all people, regardless of their location or circumstances, can benefit from high-quality, affordable and accessible ICT services. He is equally committed to providing positive, inclusive and impactful leadership and to influencing others in a manner that fosters collaboration, innovation and sustainable development.
